Not too long ago, a major U.S. Navy Department of Defense research, development, test, and training facility was stuck in the AV Stone Ages. This facility relied on ancient analog and digital systems, like matrix switches, hardware-based processors, and dedicated cabling. This setup was so complicated and outdated that it made simple tasks, like scaling, monitoring, or integrating new technology, a complete headache. The operational purpose, testing, and monitoring rooms were spread out making it difficult for the small DoD technical team to manage. The layout was more prehistoric village than a current command center, with too much distance between the fires. This unorganized infrastructure caused unnecessary failures and difficulty scaling and reconfiguring. It was only a matter of time before operations fossilized completely. The facility needed to enter the modern day, and that’s where Parker Group and VuWall rolled in.Â
VuWall and Parker Group’s mission was to replace the aging baseband infrastructure with a unified, interoperable AVoIP system built on TRx and PAK. This curated upgrade delivered centralized control over all AV sources and destinations. Parker Group installed five new LCD video walls powered by TRx/Pak and integrated over 125 existing displays into the new network. Operators gained control through modern touch panels that handled commands like power on/off and auto-calibration, abandoning the old mechanical tools for good.Â
The project became VuWall’s largest TRx/PAK deployment to date, with more than 80 PAK 40 units and 54 VuStream E240 units installed.Â
The facility now operates with streamlined workflows, reduced administrative overhead, and far fewer points of failure. Real-time content management flows seamlessly across multiple rooms. Displays can be adjusted instantly to meet changing mission demands, without the need for rewiring or complicated workarounds.Â
What was once a place of outdated technology is now a future-ready command center. With the combined expertise of Parker Group and VuWall, the facility has moved beyond the Stone Age into a modern era of innovation and operational strength.
